Planning 30 days of LinkedIn posts in one afternoon

The calendar session we run every month, applied to LinkedIn.

LINKEDIN

LinkedIn content ages well because most posts are read days or weeks after they were written, not just in the first hour. That makes it one of the easiest platforms to batch a full month of content for in a single sitting.

Pull from the last 30 days of your actual work

The fastest way to fill a month of LinkedIn posts is to look backward, not forward: what did you ship, learn, get wrong, or debate with a colleague in the last month? Each of those is a post. You're not inventing content, you're just writing down what already happened.

One idea per post, not one post per day

LinkedIn readers are scanning between meetings — a post that tries to make three points usually lands none of them. When planning, split any idea that has more than one takeaway into separate posts. This also solves your volume problem: what looked like ten ideas becomes twenty-five posts once you split them properly.

Batch-write, don't batch-polish

Write all thirty drafts in one pass without stopping to edit. Editing mid-draft is what turns a two-hour session into a six-hour one. Go back and polish only after every draft exists.

Schedule around the week, not the month

LinkedIn engagement is strongly tied to weekdays and working hours. Slot your best posts for Tuesday through Thursday and treat Monday and Friday as lighter days — that's a scheduling decision you can make once and apply to the whole month.

Mix formats across the month

A month of identical-format text posts gets monotonous even for an engaged audience. Plan for a mix — a few posts with a simple graphic or screenshot, one or two document/carousel posts if that format suits your content, and the rest as straightforward text — decided up front so you're not defaulting to the easiest format for all thirty.

The afternoon

Forty-five minutes pulling ideas from the last month's work, ninety minutes drafting, thirty minutes editing the strongest five, fifteen minutes scheduling. Under three hours for a month of posts.
